Truecaller’s iOS 11 update eases spam filtering for iMessage

Truecaller's latest update for iOS 11 will cheer Apple iPhone users. The app, which helps users in identifying spam calls, will now also filter out junk text messages from iMessage. Apple iOS 11 will allow third-party messaging apps detect spam and junk messages in iMessage. The feature will now be implemented in Truecaller's latest update.
iMessage does feature a junk folder, but it only applies to other iMessages users would have received, that are messages from an iOS device. For regular old SMS, iMessage was quite inefficient at tackling spam, alerts, etc. Users can now turn on their Truecaller app on iOS 11 and turn on spam filtering for iMessage.
This would be much like the junk email folder and the feature has been activated, then the message will be in a designated spam folder. Users can activate the feature, by going to Settings>Message>Unknown & Spam and turn on SMS filtering for Truecaller. Of course, they would need to install and update Truecaller's iOS app on their phone. They would also need to be on iOS 11 for this feature to work.
Users should take note that when they turn on the Spam Filter feature, the app developer will be able to read the text, content and sender information included in incoming SMS and MMS messages.
Meanwhile, the tech firm said in a communique that users will no longer have to waste time deleting unwanted messages manually from the device, allowing them to communicate safely and more efficiently with those that matter.
Truecaller blocks over 100 million spam SMS and text messages each week globally, and with its ever-growing community, iOS users would now get the ability to filter out junk SMS on the same pattern as junk e-mail with the most powerful spam blocking app.
