Taiwanese company unveils prototype of futuristic transparent smartphone

The Taiwanese division of US technology company Polytron Technologies has developed a transparent smartphone that has similar functions but totally different design seen today on most smartphones.
Taken six years to develop, this futuristic looking smartphone is scratch- and shatter-proof since it is made out of conductive glass.
The see-through both sides touch activated mobile device is ultra lightweight - 25 per cent lighter than Apple's iPhone 5, and is said to have nearly all the functions of an average smartphone currently in the market.
The device is activated by touching on one side, but images are displayed on both sides of the transparent glass.
Polytron has used transparent wires for powering the handset and as of now the only visible components are the two small batteries, the external memory card, the microphone and the SIM card.
The company plans to add a camera and shift most of the visible components to an opaquely shaded area at the bottom which will have a darker glass.
