The Telecom Commission's meeting to decide on TRAI's recommendations on mergers and acquisitions (M&As) and the pricing of spectrum has been deferred yet again.

The Telecom Commission, the highest decision-making of the telecom ministry, will meet on again on 9 December to discuss the telecoms regulator's proposals.

"We will have another meeting. We have covered most of the issues related to spectrum requirement and availability and the issues relating to licensing," telecom secretary and chairman of telecom commission R Chandrashekhar said after the meeting.

''We will only freeze all these discussions when we complete the whole deliberations," he added.

The telecom ministry is likely to finalise the National Telecom Policy 2011 and all these issues, including spectrum pricing and M&A guidelines among others, have to be resolved prior to that.

In November, TRAI had forwarded its recommendations to the department of telecommunications (DoT), which had sought some clarifications.
