With their antics being watched by students, the opposition stalled the functioning of both houses of Parliament for the 21st day running today, as both government and the opposition remained adamant on their diverse positions on the 2G spectrum allocation probe.

It was a reprise of incidents since the beginning of the winter session of Parliament, with opposition members trooping into the well and raising slogans demanding the formation of a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) to investigate the alleged scam.

The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were first adjourned till noon, almost immediately after they assembled at 11 am and Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar made obituary references in the house.

At noon when slogan-shouting Opposition members were again in the well, she directed the laying of papers and then appealed that the private members' business be allowed to be taken up at 3.30 pm.

"This is the last day of the session for private members' business to be taken up. So I appeal to all sections to allow private members business when the House reassembles at 3.30 pm," Kumar said while adjourning the house till then.

Some members displayed placards, with one of them reading: Desh me ghotala, videsh me apmaan, Yeh dekho UPA ki shaan (Scam in the country, disrespect abroad, this is the achievement of UPA)".
