ACME sets up 100 MW solar plant in Rajasthan in 150 days

Solar power producer ACME has announced the commissioning of its 100 MW plant in Rajasthan in a record 150 days' time. The project, part of the National Solar Mission Phase II, has been set up near Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

The project consisting of 5 units (20 MW x 5), with a cumulative generating capacity of 100 MW has been installed in the Bap tehsil in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

''The commissioning of the this prestigious solar power project brings pride to the nation as we look up to ambitious targets that need to be achieved amongst all the challenges in front of us. This has further reiterated ACME's position as the leader in the solar power scenario with over 165 MWp operational capacities across Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh,'' Manoj Kumar Upadhyay, founder and chairman, ACME, said.

Power generated from the project will be evacuated through a 132 KV line linked to the project site. Electricity will be supplied to Rajasthan under the power purchase agreement signed with the Solar Energy Corporation of India.

''ACME Solar commissioned the solar power project in record time of 150 days starting from foundation stone laying to electricity generation,'' the company said in a statement.

ACME also has a 25 MW plant in Madhya Pradesh and has generated 25 GWh in six months since installation.
