Both Houses of Parliament were once again adjourned this morning for the 12th day running as the Bharatiya Janata Party continued to raise a ruckus demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over the allocation of coal mining blocks at allegedly throwaway rates.

In the Lok Sabha, speaker Meira Kumar took up Question Hour after making an obituary reference to the victims of the fireworks factory disaster at Sivakasi in Tamil Nadu.

After observing the customary silence, BJP members trooped into the well of the House raising slogans against the Prime Minister over the coal block allocation. As the din continued, the speaker adjourned the House till noon.

Similar scenes were witnessed in the Rajya Sabha.

After observing silence for the victims of the Sivakasi tragedy, BJP members shouted slogans demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister.

Some Samajwadi Party members were also up on their feet but they could not be heard in the din.

Chairman Hamid Ansari tried to restore order in the House and called for the first listed question of the day but BJP members kept up an unrelenting ruckus.

He then adjourned the House till noon.
