Alstom Projects India sees dip in April-June net profit

Alstom Projects India Ltd has reported a decline in its net profit at Rs31.51 crore in the April-June quarter of the current financial year (2010-11) against Rs36.75 crore in the April-June 2009 quarter.

Total income of the company stood at Rs358.37 crore in the April-June 2010 quarter against Rs504.18 crore in the quarter ended 30 June 2009.
 
Profit from operations stood at Rs39.57 crore in the April-June 2010 quarter against Rs53.55 crore in April-June 2009.

During the financial year ended 31 March 2010, Alstom Projects India posted a net profit of Rs119.63 crore against Rs134.89 crore in April-March 2008-09. Profit from operations stood at Rs168.99 crore against Rs174.63 crore in April-June 2009.

Total income of the company fell to Rs1,445.59 crore during the 2009-10 financial year from Rs2,300.79 crore in April-March 2009-10.

With a heavy backlog of orders, Alstom, however, posted a 5 per cent increase in global sales at €19.7 billion and a 16 per cent increase in income from operations at €1.8 billion.

Alstom supplied more than 25 per cent of the world's installed power generation capacity.
