Brazilian state-owned oil firm Petrobras has signed a five-deal with India's largest offshore drilling contractor in the private sector Aban Offshore for deploying its drillship Aban Abraham offshore Brazil

In a regulatory filing with the BSE, Aban disclosed that it estimates a revenue of approximately Rs2,285 crore and a potential 3.85-per cent performance bonus.

The deployment is likely to commence during the 4th quarter of calendar year 2010, the filing said.

Earlier in July the company  signed a deal to deploy its jack-up rig Aban VII Offshore India for four months to drill at three firm wells for an estimated value of approximately Rs50 crore.

After its semi-submersible rig Aban Pearl ship sank offshore at Venezuela in May, Aban Offshore has been able to claim 97 per cent of the insurance amount and has received an assessed insurable value of $235 million from reinsurers.
