Aban Offshore announces rig deployment deals

India's largest private sector offshore drilling service contractor Aban Offshore Ltd today  announced the signing of two rig deployment contracts.

The first, and the larger of the two contracts, is for its jack-up rig Deep Driller 1 to be deployedd offshore India, for an expected contract value of $41-million, for one year, extendable for twice for upto six months each.

Aban said the revenue from the deal would accrue from the time Deep Drioller 1 is actually deployed in the second quarter of calendar 2010.

The second contract involves the deployment of its jack-up rig Aban VII',  offshore Qatar, for six weks for an estimated revenues of $2.5 million.

Aban Offshore has a fleet of five jack up rigs, one floater and one FPU.
