Punj Lloyd bags Rs164 crore Dabhol-Panvel pipeline contract

Mumbai: Punj Lloyd Ltd has secured the Rs164.24 crore (Rs1,642.40 million) contract for Gail's Panvel-Dabhol pipeline project. The two-part project involves laying a 30" pipeline over a 113-km length from Panvel to upstream of Savitri river crossing in two spreads and a further length of 74km to Dabhol terminal.

The EPC comprises residual engineering, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of the pipeline system from GAIL's installation at Panvel to Dabhol terminal, including terminal work and all associated mechanical, civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation work and laying of optical fibre cable, HDPE duct etc. Gail will supply the pipes as free issue material.

Other facilities include a distribution terminal at Dabhol, sectionalising value stations and intermediate pigging station with a tap-off facility. The pipeline will pass through some of the steepest slopes in the country.

The project is scheduled for completion within ten-and-a-half months from the date of contract. Punj Lloyd had earlier bagged part of Gail's Dahej-Uran pipeline project.
