Goa tourism ropes in actress Prachi Desai as brand ambassador

Goa tourism yesterday announced at a press conference that it had appointed Bollywood actress Prachi Desai its brand ambassador, in a bid to attract the youth tourist segment.
M M Modassir, tourism secretary, Goa, said that the plan is to target the youth tourist segment, especially affluent youth, as almost 50 per cent of India's population is below the age of 25..
He, however, clarified that Goa Tourism's marketing strategy is not a deviation from its earlier campaign of promoting Goa as a family holiday destination.
Also present at the conference were tourism minister, Nilkanth Halarnkar and Goa Tourism Development Corporation managing director, Nikhil Desai.
Desai has worked on films like Rock On and the recently released Once upon a time in Mumbai.
