Mumbai: Power equipment maker Bharat Bijlee Ltd, which posted a return on investment of over 2,000 per cent in the last three financial years, has catapulted to a list of select firms compiled by ''Forbes'' magazine.

Forbes has featured Bharat Bijlee in its latest ''Asia''s 200 Best Under a Billion'' list and it is only one of 17 companies from India to make the grade, the company said in a release.

"The timing of our expansions in the transformer and motor businesses has enabled us to achieve higher growth rates and deliver higher returns. We are extremely pleased that our performance has been recognised internationally," said Shome Danani, general manager, corporate strategy, of the company.

Danani said the company was currently working toward building a "scalable platform for growth to prepare for the future."
