Crisil Q4’11 net profit rises nearly 10.6 per cent to Rs50.56 crore

Rating agency Crisil Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs50.56 crore for the quarter ended 31 December 2011 against a net profit of Rs45.72 crore for the quarter ended 31 December 2010, a 10.59 per cent increase year-on-year.

Total income of the company for the quarter increased to Rs185.90 crore from Rs151.07 crore in the year-ago quarter ended 31 December 2010, audited results for the year 31 December 2011 showed.

Consolidated group profit for the quarter ended 31 December 2011 stood at Rs55.81 crore, against Rs50.56 crore for the quarter ended 31 December 2010. Total income of the rating agency increased to Rs233.65 crore for the quarter ended 31 December 2011 from Rs179.21 crore for the quarter ended 31 December 2010.

For the year ended 31 December 2011, Crisil has posted a net profit of Rs186.51 crore, against a net profit of Rs195.75 crore for the year ended 31 December 2010. Total income for the year increased to Rs682.17 crore from Rs602.33 crore for the year ended 31 December 2010.

Consilidated group net profit for the year ended 31 December 2011 was marginally higher at Rs206.42 crore compared to Rs205.47 crore for the year ended 31 December 2010.

Total group income increased to Rs849.78 crore during the year from Rs701.47 crore during the previous year.
