Mumbai: The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has launched its first info centre in Mumbai to enable customers to make enquiries about LIC products and policy details.

Customers in Mumbai can now dial 612 5555 for information on LIC products between 8 am and 8 pm on all working days and between 10 am and 6 pm on Saturdays, according to a press release issued here. Info centres will also be set up in seven other places. In the western zone, centres in Ahmedabad and Pune will be commissioned shortly, the release added.

LIC had taken up three initiatives during 2001-2002 - the interconnectivity of about 1,500 branches, info centres at eight locations and video conferencing between the zones, which is almost over, said LIC current in-charge and managing director A Ramamurthy.
