Pune: Om Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance will try to get ahead in the next few months by targeting at least 50 per cent of the markets where Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) is a dominant player.

The company will also leverage its brand image in the western region to rapidly step up market share, says Om Kotak assistant vice-president Ratin Lahiri.

Lahiri, who was here for the launch of the companys new Child Advantage Plan, says the company will roll out its operations in 28 centres before December 2002. "We are planning to target towns with 10-lakh-plus population, which has traditionally been LICs markets and hope to garner at least 50 per cent of their potential market."
