HDFC net jumps 34.3 per cent year-on-year

India's top mortgage lender the Housing Development Finance Corp reported a growth of 24.3 per cent in net profit at Rs664 crore for the quarter ending 30 September, compared to Rs534 crore in the same period a year earlier.

The total income for the period stood at Rs2,850 crore, compared to Rs2,621 crore in the same period a year ago.

On a half-yearly basis the bank has recorded a 22.60 per cent increase in net profit at Rs1,229 crore, against Rs1,002 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
