SBI to pay Rs14 per share

Mumbai: The State Bank of India (SBI) has declared payment of dividend at Rs 14 per share. This was approved by the central board of the ban at its meeting held on May 19, 2006, SBI informed the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Tuesday.

The dividend warrants will be payable at par on July 26, 2006 at all the branches of the bank up to the amount of Rs 25,000 and at the specified branches for amounts exceeding Rs 25,000.

However, SBI clarified that only 1,245 warrants of the amount exceeding Rs 25,000 will be issued, constituting 0.23 per cent of the total shareholder strength of 5.37 lakh.
