Bank credit decreases by commercial sector Rs 4,841 crore

Gross bank credit decreased by Rs4,841 crore to Rs11,27,433 crore, for the fortnight ended April 29.

This is inclusive of food credit, which increased by Rs4,918 crore to touch Rs41,765 crore and non-food credit, which decreased by Rs9,759 crore to touch Rs10,85,669 crore. Total accommodation provided by scheduled commercial banks to the commercial sector increased by Rs34,992 crore to touch Rs11,79,273 crore for the same period.
