New Delhi: IDBI has said it is ready with the roadmap for transforming into an universal bank. Under the roadmap, it would preserve its 38-year-old brand equity by retaining its name as IDBI Bank Ltd. Consequently, the present IDBI Bank would have to operate under a different brand name, its chairman and managing director, P P Vora, said after a board of directors meeting in New Delhi yesterday.
Mr Vora said that plan to foray into life insurance was being revived. On the universal banking plan, he said, "We have prepared a roadmap. We will like to retain the `IDBI'' brand equity as we have been operating under that name for the last 38 years."
