Andhra Bank to open special counters for exchanging notes

Andhra Bank, the Hyderabad-based public sector bank, has announced that it has decided to open special counters, jointly with the Reserve Bank of India, to exchange soiled and defective notes and also to distribute coins.

The bank says these counters will be open from 5 May to 16 May 2003 and will operate through mobile vans stationed at five main places in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad daily from 10 am till 2 pm during this period.

These mobile counters will offer services from Raitu Bazar in Erragadda on 5 and 6 May; Raitu Bazar in Mehdipatnam on 7 and 8 May; Monda Market in Secunderabad on 9 and 10 May; Raitu Bazar in Kukatpally on 12 and 13 May; and Mahaboob Gunj in Malakpet on 15 and 16 May.

In addition to these five centres, the soiled and defective note exchange and coins distribution facility will also be available in the Narayanguda branch of the bank, where even non-account holders can avail of the facility.
