HDFC Q2 net rises nearly 33 per cent to Rs912 crore

HDFC Bank today reported a 32.7 per cent increase in its net profit for the quarter ended 30 September 2010, to Rs912.1 crore, compared to the corresponding quarter ended 30 September 2009.

Profit before tax for the quarter ended 30 September 2010 increased 35.4 per cent year-on-year to Rs1,352.6 crore. The bank paid Rs440.5 crore as tax during the quarter.

HDFC Bank's net revenues (net interest income plus other income) rose 15.9 per cent to Rs3,487 crore during the quarter ended 30 September 2010 from Rs3,009.3 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

The bank reported total income of Rs5,770.7 crore during the quarter ended 30 September 2010 against Rs5,045.4 crore in the quarter ended 30 September 2009.

For the half year ended 30 September 2010, the bank reported a 33.3 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs1,723.9 crore over the corresponding six months ended 30 September 2009.

The bank's total income for the period stood at Rs11,181.3 crore against Rs10,218.1 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.
