Indian Bank, Apollo Hospitals jointly launch health card

Indian Bank and Apollo Hospitals have jointly launched a health card that would allow select customers of the bank get a discount on the services and products of the hospital, The Hindu newspaper reports.

Customers would get around 20 per cent discount from the Apollo Hospitals chain for a range of services, which would include room charges, medical check-up, investigation fees and pharma products, the report said.

According to TM Bhasin, chairman and managing director, Indian Bank, this was a gesture from Apollo Hospitals to mark its long-standing association with the bank. Indian Bank, in turn, would use the card to reward its customers and to start with, the bank planned to extend the card free of cost to customers with deposits of Rs10 lakh and more.

He said the bank had over 5 lakh such customers across the country, and in the first phase, the bank would issue 7,000 cards to its customers in Chennai. The bank would cover the entire country in the next six months, in phases, he added.
