The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) said, a survey showed increasing buyer interest for houses across the country last month. According to the body, inquiries were up as would-be buyers were slowly looking to test market conditions.

The survey revealed that the number of homes coming up for sale were up during November.

According to Rics, house price falls had been modest though the pace was slower than earlier in the year.

The most significant drops came from Northern Ireland and Wales according to respondents in the those areas.

The only part of the country to log an increase in prices was London.

According to Rics Scotland director Sarah Speirs there was certainly some optimism creeping back into the housing market in Scotland. She added it was encouraging to see an increase in potential buyers across parts of the country where the market had particularly suffered in recent years.
