An interaction with e-commerce personnel will help toy makers understand the nuances of online marketing and expand the marketing channels for the growing Indian toy sector.

Addressing participants of the workshop, DPIIT secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh said the government is committed to create a stronger ecosystem for the toy industry and has identified the sector with a long-term vision to create a global market for ‘Made in India’ toys.

He said the government’s efforts have already found success which has been reflected in enhanced exports, increasing robustness of the manufacturing ecosystem and reduced imports.

According to DPIIT joint secretary Sanjiv, Indian toy industry has expanded its market to more than 100 countries, including the US, UK, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark and even China.

The industry, he said, must now take the next step of reaching global consumers through effective use of online marketplace.
