IOC, BHEL, HPCL win SCOPE awards

President Pratibha Patil today gave away the Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE)  merit awards for 2009-10 to IOC, BHEL and HPCL, among other state-owned enterprises.

The awards were presented on the occasion of Public Sector Day Celebrations organised jointly by the department of public enterprises and the Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), in New Delhi today.

SAIL received the SCOPE award for environmental excellence while Bharat Electronics Ltd received the award in the category of corporate governance, whereas BHEL was declared a winner in the sector of R&D and technology.

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) won the award for corporate social responsibility.

Petroleum major Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) received gold trophy in the human resource management category.

The country's second largest state-owned Punjab National Bank was merited as the best managed bank and financial institution while the National Safai Karamcharis Finance Development Corporation (NSKDFC) was awarded for best-managed Section 25 PSE.
