The amendments made by Rajya Sabha in the Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty Second Amendment) Bill, 2016, as passed by Lok Sabha and as reported by the Select Committee of Rajya Sabha, have been now laid on the Table of the Lok Sabha and will be taken up by the House next week.

The BJP issued a whip on Friday to its Lok Sabha MPs to be present in the house on Monday to ensure its smooth passage.

The Constitution Amendment Bill is expected to be passed with a comfortable majority in the Lok Sabha, where the BJP-led NDA has an outright majority.
