Consumer price inflation based on the all-India consumer price index for industrial workers (CPI-IW) increased to 11.47 per cent in November 2013, compared to 11.06 per cent in the previous month and 9.55 per cent during the corresponding month of the previous year.

The largest upward pressure to the change in current index came from the food group, which contributed 2.23 percentage points to the total change.

At item level, higher prices of rice, wheat, wheat atta, milk, ghee, garlic, potato, tomato and other vegetable items, tea (beverage) etc were responsible for the rise in index.

At centre level, Bokaro recorded the highest increase of 11 points each followed by Giridih, Kodarma and Angul-Talcher (9 points each), Munger-Jamalpur (8 points) and Rourkela, Sholapur and Raniganj (7 points each).
