External affairs minister SM Krishna today voiced India's concern over the presence of Chinese troops in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) in his talks with Chinese leaders.

Krishna who met four Chinese leaders including foreign minister, Yang Jiechi said India's concerns over the presence of the troops were conveyed to the Chinese during the talks.

"On the issue of Chinese presence of POK, Pakistan is in illegal occupation of certain areas of Jammu and Kashmir," Krishna told a media briefing after his talks with Chinese leaders while answering a question.

"This has been brought to the attention of the Chinese leadership repeatedly and there it stands," he said. The chief of army staff, (COAS) General V K Singh had said earlier in New Delhi that around 4,000 Chinese troops of the  People's Liberation Army of China were present in PoK.

His statement had come in the backdrop of concerns in India over the presence and engagement of Chinese troops in PoK, which India considers part of its territory.

India and China would continue to try and resolve nagging differences including a festering border issue that led to a war in 1962, however, New Delhi and Beijing would not allow outstanding bilateral issues stand in the way of cooperation in other areas.
