New Delhi: Yahoo!, the leading global Internet communications and media company, has appointed Neville Taraporewalla as the country manager of Yahoo! India. He succeeds Darren Gocher, and will take over the responsibility with immediate effect.
Taraporewalla joined Yahoo! India in May 2002 as sales director and was later responsible for the overall sales and business development function for Yahoo! India. In the last 12 months he has shown promising growth for the Indian subsidiary by bringing it to a leadership position in the Internet advertising and the wireless space. He has also played an integral part in steering the team after the restructuring last year.
As country manager, India, his responsibilities will include successful management of the Yahoo! India portal and work towards increasing business opportunities for Yahoo! in India.
