Moser Baer net up 65 per cent in Q3

New Delhi: Moser Baer India Ltd (MBIL), maker of compact discs and other optical storage media, on Tuesday said its net profit in the third quarter rose by 65 per cent on increased sales of digital versatile disks (DVDs).

In the quarter ended December 31, 2003, MBIL's net profit stood at Rs 107 crore as compared to Rs 64.8 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, the company said in a statement here. Net sales during the quarter were Rs 476.7 crore (Rs 294.4 crore).

For the nine-month period, MBIL recorded a net profit of Rs 250.9 crore on net sales of Rs 1,141.9 crore.

Earnings per share (on expanded equity post bonus issue and not annualised) for the quarter was Rs 11.1 as compared to Rs 6.7 in the same period last year.
