Ipca's 'Atenolol' bulk drug registered in China

The State Food and Drug Administration in China has approved and registered Mumbai-based Ipca laboratories'' active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) Atenolol for import and use in China.
This is Ipca''s first from China and the company plans to file for more API registrations in China.
Ipca laboratories is one of the largest producer in the world of API Atenolol and holds the drug master files (DMFs) for it in various countries. The company also markets formulations of Atenolol in various markets of CIS, Asia, Africa and Europe.
Ipca exports to over 100 countries contributed about 53 per cent of its 2005-06 income of Rs753 crore.
