Flipkart raining discounts as Big Billion Day starts tomorrow

With the festive shopping season around the corner, homegrown Flipkart is seeking to maintain its slender lead over US-based ecommerce rival Amazon with the Big Billion Day sale that starts on Wednesday.
Flipkart did slightly better than Amazon in last year's Diwali season, and hopes to do the same this year with heavy discounts and exclusive deals on fashion, apparels, shoes, gadgets and large appliances.
For the first time, Flipkart has introduced an offer where consumers have the option to choose EMIs on debit cards across top banks in India. The Flipkart Big Billion Day Sale starts on 20 September and will close on 24 September.
This coincides closely with Amazon's Great India Sale, which launches on 21 September.
On Flipkart, the big discounts would be on mobiles, electronics and accessories. The consumers will get good bargain on Asus, Motorola and HTC budget smartphones as well as a massive discount and deals on Samsung Galaxy S7 and Redmi 4A.
Additionally, it will be a launch pad for Lenovo K8 Plus and Panasonic Eluga Ray 700, among others. Many phones of these brands will be available for less than Rs 7000 during the Big Billion Sale.
Flipkart will also put up televisions, refrigerators, split air conditioners and washing machines for sale at up to 70 per cent off.
However, one of the biggest attractions of the festival sale will be laptops, in particular gaming laptops. Flipkart is offering gaming laptops for as much as up to 50 per cent off. There is a Rs15,000 exchange-discounr as well.
The offer is valid on DSLRs, Apple iPads, smart watches, and Sony PS4, amongst others.
Categories like fashion, TV and appliances and home and furniture have been revamped with the enhanced selection, better customer interface, and speedy delivery.
Apart from this, the Big Billion Sale will see products and brands with a host of consumer financing programs such as no cost EMI, product exchange, buyback guarantee and buy now pay later, along with special offers for SBI debit & credit card holders (See: Festive discounts get even bigger as Paytm joins Flipkart, Amazon),.
