New Delhi: FMCG major Dabur India is reportedly planning to enter the estimated Rs100 crore milk-based beverages market.

Dabur markets fruit juice in the beverage segment, and is now reported to be exploring a foray into the milk-based drink segment. Reports do not indicate a time frame for a possible product roll out in the category.

Global beverage giants Pepsi Co and Coca Cola have already announced plans to tap the milk-based drinks market in India. Over the past few months, there has been considerable action in the the flavoured milk category, with majors Nestle and Amul having entered the market.

On the back of a heightened health awareness amongst Indian consumers, other players such as Britannia, Mother Dairy, Parle and significant regional stalwarts such as Vijaya, Energee, and the Delhi-based Paras group are also learnt to be developing their own flavoured milk plans.
