Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has come out with a new 'KOOL' offer for its prepaid subscribers, under which the state-owned telecom operator is offering unlimited voice and data, including roaming calls and 100 SMS per day, at Rs1,099 for 84 days.

According to BSNL, the Rs1,099 plan gives unlimited data benefit without any daily or monthly FUP limit and the combined cost of data voice and SMS comes at just Rs13 per day.

The plan is valid pan-India where BSNL has its service and the same tariff plan provides free PRBT (Personalised Ring Back Tone) to the customers for the entire validity period.

While the pre-paid plan is the best offer from the state-run telecom service provider in recent times, BSNL prepaid customers will be able to enjoy data benefits in just 3G and not 4G unlike other prepaid tariff plans from other telcos such as Reliance Jio, Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular.

BSNL has started 4G operations in five regions of Kerala circle, but not under the `KOOL' offer, is valid there as customers access 4G services with 3G SIM cards.

With download speeds of 50 Mbps, BSNL's new 4G offer takes on rival telecom operators such as Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance Jio, and Idea Cellular. While most telecom firms offer unlimited voice calls, BSNL's Rs13 per day offer comes with unlimited data and voice calls without any FUP limit.

BSNL is seeking additional spectrum from the government to expand the coverage. But for now, BSNL is offering 4G services in Kerala on 2100 MHz spectrum.

BSNL is unlikely to extend its 4G coverage to other circles anytime soon, until at least the next spectrum auction.
