Amway will enter the colour cosmetics business

Pune: Amway India, the 100 per cent subsidiary of the $6.4 billion Amway Corporation has set for itself a revenue target of Rs1,000 crore over the next three years. According to Achinta Banerjie, vice president of the western region for Amway India, the company clocked Rs738 crore in turnover during the year ended December 2006, and is looking at clocking Rs800 crore by the same time this year. Banerjie also said that Amway will be entering the colour cosmetics business with a range of four nail colours, six lip shades, eyeliner and an eye shadow, which are expected to come to market by December. For now, the company has six third-party contractors who manufacture products. Amway, according to Banerjie, has also begun a non-core line entry into the domestic market, having tied up with around 20 players for marketing their products through Amway''s distribution channel.
