Get your train ticket delivered at home, pay cash on delivery

You can now book a rail ticket online and get it delivered to your home paying cash on delivery, thanks to a new scheme launched by the Indian Railways Catering & Tourism Corp.
Launched on a pilot basis in some 200 cities, the cash on delivery (CoD) system is aimed at those who are reluctant to use their credit or debit cards, or don't have net-banking.
''One has to just book the ticket online and payment would be made on delivery,'' said a senior IRCTC official involved with the project.
Customers can book a ticket five days prior to commencement of journey at an extra cost of Rs40 for each Sleeper Class ticket and Rs60 for an AC class ticket.
Anduril Technologies has been authorised to provide CoD services through its website and its App – BookMyTrain.com.
This is another attempt to move people away from the ticket counters and decongest the booking windows, the official said.
