Godrej brand valued at $3 billion
05 May 2011
A brand valuation exercise by the Godrej Group has pegged the 'Godrej' brand at $3 billion, The Times of India has reported.
The diversified group, which has interests in the FMCG, real estate, appliances, furniture, security and other areas, is said to have hired UK-based brand consultancy firm, Interbrand, for valuing the master brand along with the sub brands in the group.
Godrej Group officials declined to comment on the valuation exercise though TOI said it had learnt of Interbrand submitting a detailed report to the group.
Interbrand, it said, had valued each of Godrej's sub brands too besides the master brand.
Some of Godrej's key sub brands include Godrej No.1, Cinthol, Good-Knight, Expert and Fair Glow.
This is not the first time Godrej is working with Interbrand. Earlier, it had roped in the agency to design a youthful logo and brand positioning for the group. The association, three years back, had given rise to a new brand positioning - ''Brighter Living'', which signalled Godrej's commitment to innovation.
