Ford Motor to recall 370,000 sedans over steering issues

Ford Motor over the weekend said that it is recalling around 370,000 full-size sedans in the US and Canada over steering issues.
The recall is for Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car models from 2005 through 2011.
The recall covers 355,000 vehicles sold in the US, including about 195,000 Crown Victoria model police cars, and 15,000 sold in Canada.
The Detroit-based carmaker said that the lower intermediate steering shaft could corrode and potentially result in loss of steering. Most of the affected cars are in states that salt their roads in winter.
Ford said that it is not aware of accidents or injuries related to the recall.
Ford dealers will inspect and replace the lower intermediate steering shaft and, if necessary, secure a lower steering column bearing and replace the upper intermediate steering shaft.
