INX Media's 24x7 English news channel NewsX goes on air

Indrani Mukherjea's INX Media has launched NewsX, a 24-hr English news channel, which went live yesterday, 27 March. Karan Thapar's Indian Television Private (ITV) is the editorial advisor for the channel, while Arup Ghosh is the newsroom head.
Thapar's advisory services would include a review of progress to date and consultancy on future editorial development of the channel.
NewsX is the third channel launched by the company, which started a year back. The company's other two channels are 9X, a Hindi entertainment channel and 9XM (music channel).
The company plans to roll out more channels such as entertainment channels in regional languages and city specific channels by 2009.
The new channel joins CNN-IBN, NDTV-24x7 to strengthen English TV news journalism.
