Wipro Yardley, a personal care brand from Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting, has launched its first soap brand in India.

The initial range will include five exotic fragrances - Red Roses, English Rose, Jasmine, Sandalwood and the extremely popular English Lavender.

Anil Chugh, senior vice president, Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting, said, ''Yardley's reputation precedes it's availability in India. It's a matter of immense pleasure for us to introduce this heritage brand to Indian consumers, a brand whose quality and fragrance have been a hallmark for ages.

''We are confident that Indians will enjoy the soap that has been customised to suit Indian tastes. Having achieved immense success in other countries, there is indeed no better time for Yardley Soaps to cater now to the Indian market.''

In 2009, Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting had acquired Yardley from Lornamead, the previous owners of the brand.

The luxury soaps range is the first product range to be launched since the acquisition.

Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting, part of Wipro Limited, deals in personal care, hair care, household care segments and lighting segments.
