Luxury car maker Bentley launches first SUV Bentayga priced Rs3.85 crore

Luxury car maker Bentley yesterday launched its first sports utility vehicle Bentayga in India priced Rs3.85 crore (ex-showroom Delhi) onwards, PTI reported.
According to Bentley's India dealer, Exclusive Motors, the "world's fastest luxury SUV" had already clocked confirmed bookings in "three digits" and deliveries would start within two weeks.
"The Bentayga is a limited edition and there is a lot of interest. We already have confirmed bookings in three digits," Exclusive Motors managing director Satya Bagla told reporters in New Delhi.
Bullish on the prospects of the new product in the country, he said, "India is growing aggressively in the luxury automobile space. With the arrival of Bentayga, Bentley will set a benchmark for the SUV segment in India."
The luxury SUV is fitted with a 6-litre turbo charged petrol engine delivering 600 bhp and is capable of accelerating from 0-60 miles per hour in 4 seconds. The Bentayga has a top speed of 301 kmph.
According to Bagla, the first delivery would happen in about two weeks and it took around 5-6 months from order to delivery. He added that in order to expand Bentley's presence in India a new showroom with service facility was being set up at Hyderabad, which was set to open in about two months.
Bentley first showcased the Bentayga, designed, engineered and built at the its headquarters in Crewe, England, at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show last year.
According to experts, the Bentayga is designed along the lines of the Bentley Flying Spur. They add that each aspect of the SUV had been tailor-made to offer the best luxury one could get from a car.
The UK carmaker's first-ever SUV comes with a large matrix grille, four distinctive floating all-LED head-lamps, B-shaped wing vents, and skid plate integrated into the lower section of the front bumper.
