Government constitutes group of ministers for civil aviation policy

New Delhi: The Government has constituted the Group of Ministers (GOM) to whom the Civil Aviation Policy has been referred.

Pranab Mukherjee, minister for external affairs, will head the Group of Ministers.

The others members of the group are: Sharad Pawar, minister for agriculture and consumer affairs, food & public distribution, Lalu Prasad Yadav, minister for railways, AK Antony, minister for defence, Shivraj V Patil, minister for home affairs, Jaipal Reddy, minister for urban development, P Chidambaram, minister for finance, TR Baalu, minister for shipping, road transport & highways, HR Bhardwaj, minister for law & justice, Smt. Ambika Soni, minister for tourism and culture, Praful Patel, minister for civil aviation, and Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Dy. Chairman, Planning Commission.

The Union Cabinet referred the Civil Aviation Policy to a Group of Ministers on 15th June 2007 for further consultation.
