Gulfstream and NetJets in $1.9 billion deal for 40 aircraft

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp announced Friday an agreement to supply NetJets with 40 new Gulfstream aircraft, valued at $1.9 billion. Gulfstream is a subsidiary of defence systems provider, General Dynamics Corp.

Under the deal Gulfstream will supply four G450s and four G550s to NetJets, each year from 2012 through 2016. The deal also includes a long-term maintenance support agreement.

As of June 2008, NetJets' worldwide fleet boasted of 110 Gulfstream aircraft, including 21 G550/V, 55 G450/400/IV-SP and 34 G200s.

NetJets, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is the largest and most diversified fleet in private aviation, including 15 of the most popular business jets in the world.
