Hyd'bad's new RGIA airport completes 50 days of operations - handles a million passengers

Hyderabad: Hyderabad's new Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) at Shamsabad crossed another milestone, when the one millionth air passenger passed through its portals after a mere fifty days since launch of commercial operations at the end of March this year.

This marks an increase in air traffic movements (ATMs), as well as the number of passengers, by over 14 per cent from the corresponding period of the previous year at the old Begumpet airport.

RGIA handled an average of 248 (220 domestic + 28 international) flights a day in the first fifty days of its operations as compared to the Begumpet airport in the corresponding period last year which was 218 (190 domestic and 28 international).
