Emirates Airlines to recruit more Indian cabin crew and staff

New Delhi: Even as India's domestic aviation sector is caught up retrenchment and downgrade programmes, there is welcome news for Indian cabin crew and other aviation staff from a foreign airline - one of the world's majors. Emirates Airlines announced Monday it was recruiting more people from India to meet its expansion plans in India.
"In fact we are looking for more people from India. We will recruit more people as cabin crew and other operations," vice president, India and Nepal, Orhan Abbas informed the media here.
According to Abbas, Emirates would add 31 additional flights every week to India by February next year, over and above the 132 flights a week it currently operates.
"The enhanced capacity will position our airline as a single largest international carrier in the Indian skies," Abbas said.
He said that Emirates has over 10,000 cabin crew involved in its global operations, of which about 10 per cent are Indians. Abbas said Indians were educated, hardworking and intelligent. "We are looking forward to take more Indians in our expansion plans," he said.
