Farnborough: The UB Group's Kingfisher Airlines will start services to international destinations from early September this year. The international services will launch on 3 September with daily flights to Europe and Southeast Asia. The services will be further extended to the US shortly thereafter.

According to Kingfisher Airlines chairman, Vijay Mallya, non-stop flights would commence from Bangalore and Mumbai to London and from Mumbai to Hong Kong and Singapore between 31 August and 3 September.

The airline also has a unique non-stop Bangalore – San Francisco service slated for launch sometime around late September or early October. Around this time the airline will also launch a non-stop, or a single stop service to New York.

Unveiling a new Airbus A330-200 aircraft, recently acquired by the airline, at the air show Mallya termed the Bangalore-San Francisco non-stop flight as a "no-brainer" as it directly connects the two "two silicons", referring to the "Silicon Plateau" of Bangalore, and the "Silicon Valley" in the US.

The India – London service would touch down at the British capital post lunch at around 1430 hours GMT. The return flight would be an overnight journey, starting at around 2200 hours GMT.
