Oman Air launches Muscat-Bangalore service

Middle East carrier, Oman Air, has launched a five times a week service between Muscat and Bangalore from 15 June 2008. It will operate the route with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

The new service, including those to Calicut, increases Oman Air's destinations in India to 10.

Under a MoU with the government of India, private carrier Jet Airways, which recently launched its flights to the Sultanate, will now be able to increase its flights to Muscat.

Oman Air currently operates to 26 destinations from its Muscat hub, including 12 destinations in the Indian sub-continent. These include New Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, Chennai, Trivandrum, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Kozhikode and now Bangalore.

Other destinations on the sub-continent include Karachi in Pakistan and Chittagong in Bangladesh.

The carrier also operates ten international destinations in the Middle East region, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, Riyadh, Bahrain, Doha, Kuwait, Beirut, Cairo and Amman. Other destinations include  London and Bangkok.
