Dubai: Bahrain's flag carrier, Gulf Air, will launch daily, non-stop flights between Bahrain and Hyderabad in India from 1 July.
"India is one of the key countries that we are looking at to expand and grow as part of our strategy to be the airline of choice," Gulf Air chief executive Bjorn Naf said in a statement.
"Being the first regional carrier to operate flights to India, our infrastructure in the country is well-established and our preparations are well under way to commence our Hyderabad operations."
Hyderabad, the capital of the southern Indian State of Andhra Pradesh, will become Gulf Air's eighth Indian destination.
Once launched, flights to Hyderabad will increase the airline's frequencies to India to 68 per week.
Gulf said it will deploy Airbus A320-200 aircraft on the new route.
