Bahrain Air to start India operations on 26 May with flight to Kochi

Manama: Low-cost airline, Bahrain Air, will begin operations to India from next month targeting the southern State of Kerala's commercial capital, Kochi, as its first destination. Managing director, Ibrahim Al Hamer, said that the airline will eventually target more destinations in the country.
Bahrain Air is the Kingdom of Bahrain's second flag carrier.
As an airline, Bahrain Air commenced operations only on 1 February 2008. It has announced its plans to operate to 14 cities by April 2008.
"We shall start operations to Kochi on 26 May with three flights a week, which will become a daily service from October this year," Hamer said. "We are looking forward to the support of the 280,000-strong Indian community, which is the single largest expatriate group in Bahrain."
Bahrain Air's first flight on the Bahrain-Kochi route commences on Monday, 26 May at 10.40am and reaches Kochi International Airport at 5.30pm, local time on the same day.
The other two flights will operate on Tuesdays and Fridays, departing Bahrain at 7pm and arriving in Kochi at 2.30am on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
