Kozhikode: RAK Airways, the national airline of the Ras al-Khaimah, a constituent emirate of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), will launch a daily service from Kerala's Kozhikode International Airport from 23 April.
Kozhikode will be the first point of service of RAK Airways from India, and it will also be the first foreign airline company to operate daily services from Kozhikode, according to PV Valsaraj, country manager of the airline.
According to Valsaraj, the airline is starting its India operation from Kozhikode, as northern Kerala has the largest number of people travelling to the UAE. Eventually, the airline will also consider launching operations from Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai, he added.
The RAK Airways flights from Ras al-Khaimah will reach Kozhikode at 9am (India time) and will return for the emirate at 10am (India time).
The airline also said that it will provide free bus transport facility for passengers arriving at Ras al-Khaimah for Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, Fujairah and Umm al-Quwain.
